Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning and Design: Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and design consultants during the pre-construction phase to ensure MEP designs align with project goals. Review and approve MEP designs, drawings, and specifications in compliance with local regulations, NBC (National Building Code), IGBC/LEED guidelines, and BIS standards. Provide inputs for innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable MEP solutions in line with market trends and future-ready technologies. Execution and Quality Assurance: Oversee the installation/ execution and commissioning of MEP systems, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timelines. Conduct regular inspections, audits, and snag identification to maintain compliance with approved designs and specifications. Troubleshoot technical challenges and provide timely resolutions during execution. Compliance and Safety: Ensure MEP systems comply with statutory regulations, environmental standards, and safety norms, including fire safety systems. Coordinate with consultants to obtain approvals drawings for local authorities such as BESCOM, BWSSB, MoEF, and fire departments, ensuring all necessary NOCs and clearances are obtained. Tender Management: Review BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and assist in value engineering to optimize costs while maintaining quality. Monitor contractor performance and resolve escalations related to delays or quality issues. Stakeholder Communication: Act as a technical advisor to internal teams (project management, procurement, design) and external stakeholders (consultants, contractors). Provide training and guidance to onsite PMC engineer/ managers on MEP systems and emerging technologies. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of designs, modifications, and handover of systems. Prepare project progress reports, technical documentation, and risk assessments for MEP components. Participate in post-occupancy evaluations and recommend improvements for future projects. Key Skills and Competencies: Expertise in MEP systems design, implementation, and commissioning. In-depth knowledge of local building codes, environmental laws, and energy-efficient systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical challenges. Proficiency in tools like AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and project management software. Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams. Qualifications and Experience: Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering (ME/EE) or related field. Master’s degree or certifications in MEP systems will be an advantage. Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in MEP design and execution, preferably in the real estate or construction industry.
