Job Description

R&D Engineer – Job Description Position Overview

The Research & Development (R&D) Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and improving products, processes, or technologies to support the company’s innovation strategy. This role involves conducting research, performing experiments, analyzing data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions that meet market and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities Product & Technology Development

Develop new products, components, or technologies from concept to prototype and full-scale production.
Improve existing designs for performance, reliability, cost reduction, safety, or manufacturability.
Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and technical evaluations.

Research & Analysis

Perform literature reviews, benchmarking, and competitive analysis.
Design and execute experiments, collect data, and interpret results.
Use engineering tools (CAD, simulation software, modeling tools, etc.) to support design and analysis.

Project Execution

Prepare technical documentation, test reports, design specifications, and project plans.
Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, procurement, and other departments to ensure successful product development.
Support prototype builds and trials; troubleshoot engineering issues.

Testing & Validation

Develop testing procedures and validation protocols.
Conduct laboratory tests, field tests, and performance evaluations.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.

Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and customer support.
Present findings, recommendations, and design concepts to stakeholders.
Interface with suppliers, research institutions, and external partners when necessary.

Qualifications Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical, Materials, or related field).

Experience

0–5+ years of experience in research and development, product design, or related engineering roles.
Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, etc.) and/or simulation tools (ANSYS, MATLAB, COMSOL).

Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of prototyping, testing, and manufacturing processes.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Creativity and passion for innovation.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in rapid prototyping, 3D printing, or IoT/automation technologies.
Familiarity with quality systems (ISO, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFMEA).
Hands-on laboratory or shop-floor experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
