The Opportunity
- Independent firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants, and technical specialists.
- Committed to delivering impactful and sustainable solutions worldwide.
- Key member of the Building Services Team, responsible for team performance, technical excellence, and project delivery.
- Mechanical System Design: Lead mechanical design for complex buildings from concept to IFC stage.
- Design Coordination: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for seamless system integration.
- Quality Assurance: Review and validate designs from local and global teams to maintain standards.
- Collaboration: Work with Arup Group offices on Middle East and India projects, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Design Development: Translate briefs into complete designs—drawings, schematics, calculations, schedules, and reports.
- Team Contribution: Support the Mechanical team in delivering high-quality outputs.
- Regulatory Compliance: Coordinate with local authorities/AOR to secure approvals.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Provide technical support for authority approvals across projects.
- Health & Safety: Embed safety principles in all work practices as per Arup policies.
- Technical Knowledge: Maintain a broad understanding of interdisciplinary design coordination.
If this role right for you?
We Are Looking For Someone Who Has
- BEng/BSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent degree, with a minimum of 8 years of post-graduate experience .
- Minimum 2 years of experience working on projects in the Middle East, particularly in the UAE and KSA, either in-country or from a remote design office.
- Passionate about implementing automation in design and delivery within a BIM environment.
- Highly motivated and willing to tackle new challenges.
- Proficient in dynamic performance modelling techniques using for example, IES-VE
- Knowledge of British Standards, ASHRAE, CIBSE, NFPA, SMACNA, UAE & KSA codes and local regulations.
