Material Recovery Facility - Manager

Job Purpose

Manage end to end operations of the Material Recovery Facility, ensuring maximum resource 

recovery and diversion from landfill. 

Key objectives of this role are:

§Responsible for complete operations of MRF at Jigani.  

§Strategizing and support both ZWP Ops and PRF waste handling.  

Team Management:

T1.Lead, mentor, and manage a team of sourcing and operations staff. 

T2.Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback. 

T3.Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team. 

T4.Resource backup planning, coordinating with contractors on the manpower 

requirements. 

T5.Team trainings. 

T6.Organizing Worker's Committee meetings. 

Sourcing of Waste:

S1.Oversee the purchasing process of waste materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness and 

quality. 

S2.Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors. 

S3.Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers. 

S4.Coordinate internally to ensure MRF & PRF capacities are fully utilised. 

S5.Communicate the quality of material being sent to MRF/PRF to the sourcing team. 

S6.Ensure internal transfer between MRF and PRF. 

Operational Management:

O1.Ensure efficient day-to-day operations of the waste management process. 

O2.Implement and monitor operational policies and procedures. 

O3.Coordinate with other departments to streamline processes and improve 

productivity. 

O4.Timely maintenance of machinery & procurement based on the requirement. 

Documentation and Compliance:

D1.Cross-check and verify all operational documentation for accuracy and 

completeness. 

D2.Maintain and audit records as per regulatory requirements. 

D3.Monitoring MIS daily. 

D4.To submit the PnL on the 30th of each month. 

Sales and Target Achievement:

S1.Develop and implement sales strategies to meet organizational targets. 

S2.Monitor sales performance and adjust strategies as needed to achieve goals.  

S3.Coordinate with the team to get end-destination details, 

S4.Collaborating with the Plastics team to keep updated on the plastic rate. 

Billing & Payments:

B1.Coordinate with an accountant for raising SO and invoices. 

B2.Plan to achieve the AOP targets. 

B3.Constant focus on cost optimisation for better profitability. 

B4.In case of unavailability of an accountant, raise invoice & E-way bill. 

B5.Ensure timely Payments for vendors & service providers. 

B6.Payments follow-up (If required). 

Logistics:

L1.Reduce the negative Environmental impact of Logistics. 

L2.Audit of transport cost & their documents. Rate negotiations with Transporters 

L3.Arrange Logistics - Coordinate for dispatching materials and ensuring stocks are 

never superfluous at the facility. 

5S Standards and Safety:

S1.Promote and enforce 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) at MRF/PRF.  

S2.Coordinate with the QEHS team for the implementation of 5S at MRF/PRF. 

S3.Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments. 

S4.Ensure a safe working environment for all employees. 

S5.Response preparation during emergencies and ensure the team is equipped to 

handle them. 

Special Projects:

P1Execution of special projects as applicable. 

P2Testing and Implementation of New Technologies at MRF like IOT, sensor-based 

sorting, MHE etc. 

Audits & Visits:

A1.Coordinate with external audit teams to understand the requirements. 

A2.Coordinate with QEHS & third parties for all the required audits. 

A3.Supervising all the audits and visits conducted at PRF. 

A4.Maintain ISO standards at the facility.
