Job Description – Manual Tester

Position: Manual Tester

Location: Tubhe, Navi Mumbai (On site)

Department: Quality Assurance (QA)

Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Manual Tester to join our Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring software applications meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and user experience. You will work closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers to identify, report, and resolve issues throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Perform various types of testing including Smoke, Sanity, Regression, User Acceptance (UAT), API Testing, Functional & Non-Functional, Black Box, White Box, Exploratory, Compatibility, and Security (basic level).

Conduct Performance Testing (basic level) to ensure applications meet expected responsiveness (optional).

Develop, review, and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.

Perform cross-browser, cross-platform, and responsive UI testing.

Provide usability feedback from an end-user perspective to improve overall user experience.

Test from a real-world, end-user perspective to ensure usability and accessibility.

Perform sanity checks post-deployment in different environments.

Track, log, and manage defects using tools such as Jira or Zoho, ensuring clear communication of issues.

Maintain comprehensive test documentation, defect reports, and QA status reports.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams following Agile methodology.

Ensure adherence to SDLC and STLC processes and contribute to continuous improvement in testing practices.

Understand and apply Bug Life Cycle management for accurate reporting and resolution.

Write and execute SQL queries to validate data integrity during testing (optional).

Use REST API testing tools such as Postman for API validation.

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of manual testing methodologies and best practices.

Proficiency in using bug tracking and defect management tools (Jira/Zoho).

Familiarity with REST API testing.

Time management skills to handle multiple tasks in parallel.

Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Excellent communication skills for reporting issues and collaborating with stakeholders.

Solid knowledge of SQL for backend validation

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

2–4 years of experience in Manual Testing or a similar role.

Exposure to basic performance and security testing is preferred.
