Tender Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Tender Identification & Evaluation:

  • Monitor and identify mining-related tenders from various e-procurement portals, government websites, public sector units (PSUs), and private sources.
  • Analyze tender documents (NIT, RFP, RFQ, BOQ, etc.) to assess eligibility, scope, and bidding requirements.
  • Track tender timelines, submission deadlines, and mandatory compliances.

Bid Management & Submission:

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, legal, finance, procurement) to gather required data for bid submission.
  • Prepare and compile technical and commercial documents for tender submissions as per tender specifications.
  • Ensure timely submission of tenders, both online and offline, with complete documentation.

Costing & Estimation:

  • Prepare detailed cost sheets and pricing models for mining bids including equipment cost, manpower, materials, logistics, taxes, duties, contingencies, etc.
  • Analyze historical data and market rates to prepare competitive and profitable bid pricing.
  • Perform risk assessment and sensitivity analysis on cost inputs.

Liaison & Communication:

  • Liaise with tendering authorities, clients, and vendors for pre-bid clarifications, site visits, or technical queries.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and represent the company in discussions, where required.

Post-Bid Activities:

  • Maintain a database of all tenders, submissions, outcomes, and competitor analysis.
  • Support negotiation and contract finalization with clients after bid win.
  • Participate in periodic reviews of tender performance and strategy.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent. MBA is a plus.
  • 5–10 years of experience in tendering and bidding in the mining or heavy engineering sector.
  • Proven track record of managing mining tenders from identification to submission.
  • Strong understanding of mining operations, equipment, and pricing mechanisms.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent knowledge of government e-procurement portals (GeM, CPPP, MSTC, NTPC, Coal India, etc.)
  • Proficient in MS Excel (advanced costing functions), Word, PowerPoint.
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical thinking.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple bids simultaneously.

  • Mining Services / Contract Mining
  • Equipment Rental / Heavy Earthmoving Equipment (HEMM)
  • EPC / Infrastructure companies working in mining operations
