Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Manager – Revenue Recognition to oversee the proper application of US GAAP revenue recognition principles (primarily ASC 606) and provide guidance on complex revenue arrangements. This individual will play a critical role in evaluating contracts, supporting audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and partnering with cross-functional teams including Sales, Legal, and FP&A.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the technical accounting review of customer contracts, focusing on revenue recognition under ASC 606.
  • Provide guidance on complex revenue arrangements such as multiple-element arrangements, software and SaaS revenue, and variable consideration.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Legal, and Operations to review and structure deals to ensure compliance with accounting policies.
  • Document accounting positions and judgments through technical memos and white papers.
  • Drive implementation and refinement of revenue accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Assist in month-end and quarter-end close activities, including revenue entries, reconciliations, and disclosures.
  • Partner with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Support SOX compliance and documentation of key controls over revenue recognition.
  • Stay updated on emerging guidance and changes in US GAAP, especially those related to revenue.
  • Provide training and support to business and finance teams on revenue recognition topics.
Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate AR and revenue recognition processes.
  • Implement best practices and internal controls to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with financial regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA required.
  • 6–10 years of experience in accounting, including strong technical expertise in US GAAP and ASC 606.
  • Public accounting experience (Big 4 or national firm) or technical accounting experience in a public company preferred.
  • Experience with SaaS, software, or technology industry revenue models is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel skills, ERP and automation tools experience is a plus (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, blackline)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
