Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Manager – Revenue Recognition to oversee the proper application of US GAAP revenue recognition principles (primarily ASC 606) and provide guidance on complex revenue arrangements. This individual will play a critical role in evaluating contracts, supporting audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and partnering with cross-functional teams including Sales, Legal, and FP&A.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the technical accounting review of customer contracts, focusing on revenue recognition under ASC 606.
Provide guidance on complex revenue arrangements such as multiple-element arrangements, software and SaaS revenue, and variable consideration.
Collaborate with Sales, Legal, and Operations to review and structure deals to ensure compliance with accounting policies.
Document accounting positions and judgments through technical memos and white papers.
Drive implementation and refinement of revenue accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Assist in month-end and quarter-end close activities, including revenue entries, reconciliations, and disclosures.
Partner with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
Support SOX compliance and documentation of key controls over revenue recognition.
Stay updated on emerging guidance and changes in US GAAP, especially those related to revenue.
Provide training and support to business and finance teams on revenue recognition topics.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities to streamline and automate AR and revenue recognition processes.
Implement best practices and internal controls to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with financial regulations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA required.
6–10 years of experience in accounting, including strong technical expertise in US GAAP and ASC 606.
Public accounting experience (Big 4 or national firm) or technical accounting experience in a public company preferred.
Experience with SaaS, software, or technology industry revenue models is highly desirable.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

Advanced Excel skills, ERP and automation tools experience is a plus (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, blackline)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
