Role Overview : The Tech KOL (Key Opinion Leader) Manager will be responsible for developing and executing OPPO India's influencer engagement strategy within the technology space. The ideal candidate will have deep relationships with Indian tech influencers and a strong understanding of smartphone technologies. This role will focus on driving engagement, shaping brand perception, and leveraging KOL content to support OPPO’s communication and marketing goals. Key Responsibilities: 1. KOL & Media Engagement: • Work closely with the PR Project Lead and IMC team to strategize and develop product campaigns highlighting OPPO’s key selling points (KSPs) and proprietary technologies. • Partner with KOL agencies and influencers to craft compelling narratives that position OPPO smartphones as industry leaders. • Identify opportunities within YouTube, X (formerly Twitter), and emerging social platforms to maximize KOL reach and engagement. 2. Influencer Strategy & Campaign Execution: • Develop and execute comprehensive KOL campaigns, ensuring alignment with OPPO’s overall marketing strategy. • Create and manage an influencer engagement roadmap that drives measurable impact in terms of awareness, engagement (likes, shares, comments), and brand perception. • Lead the development of creative briefing materials, including detailed pitches, script ideas, and content direction for YouTube tech influencer videos. • Track and analyze campaign performance, using data-driven insights to optimize future influencer collaborations. 3. Cross-functional Collaboration: • Serve as the primary point of contact for tech KOLs and influencer agencies, fostering long-term relationships. • Identify opportunities for earned media coverage by leveraging influencer partnerships for FOC (Free-of-Cost) content around OPPO’s cutting-edge smartphone technologies. • Provide strategic insights to the Marketing and PR teams, offering competitive benchmarking and performance analysis of OPPO’s KOL campaigns versus competitor brands. 4. Content Development & Optimization: • Ensure influencer content aligns with OPPO’s brand voice, key messaging, and campaign objectives. • Guide the creation of diverse content formats, including long-form YouTube reviews, social media snippets, and influencer-led product deep dives. • Collaborate with agencies to refine content strategies based on performance analytics and audience engagement metrics. 5. Reputation & Crisis Management: • Monitor sentiment and brand perception across tech influencer channels, particularly on YouTube. • Address crisis situations where OPPO is called out in competitor-driven content, ensuring a proactive and strategic response. • Develop strategies to safeguard OPPO’s brand reputation, working closely with PR and legal teams when necessary. Education Qualification: MBA/Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. Other Requirements: • 5-7 years of experience in influencer marketing, PR, or digital media within the smartphone/tech industry. • Proven track record of executing successful KOL campaigns that drive engagement and brand impact. • In-depth understanding of smartphone technologies, consumer tech trends, and digital content consumption patterns in India. • Strong familiarity with YouTube and other social media platforms as key drivers of consumer tech conversations. • Ability to develop influencer engagement strategies that align with OPPO’s broader marketing objectives.
