Role Responsibilities Develop and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, and DB2. Design and implement data models using VSAM and SQL. Perform application debugging and support troubleshooting processes. Prepare and execute JCL scripts for job scheduling. Collaborate with business analysts to gather and analyze application requirements. Ensure application performance through code optimization and refactoring. Conduct thorough testing and validation of applications before deployment. Participate in system analysis for project planning and execution. Provide technical support and coaching to junior developers. Document all development processes and technical specifications. Work within a team to deliver high-quality software solutions on time. Assist in user training and provide ongoing support. Monitor mainframe operations and address any system issues that arise. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in mainframe technology. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of applications. Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. Proven experience as a Mainframe Developer. Strong proficiency in COBOL, CICS, and DB2. Experience with JCL and VSAM. Familiarity with SQL and database design principles. Solid understanding of mainframe architectures and operating systems. Excellent debugging and analytical skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and frameworks. Prior experience in user support and training. Knowledge of Agile methodologies is aplus. Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
