The Opportunity
As part of the Data Science team, you will help us move prototypes into production, support existing ML and statistics products, grow our ML Operations tool set, integrate data science products with the broader engineering organization, and engage in research discussions and planning. This role is positioned as a mid-level Machine Learning Engineer with a strong MLOps focus: you will contribute across the full lifecycle of ML systems (development, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance) and work closely with data scientists and software engineers to deliver production-grade machine learning solutions that drive business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Support the data science family of teams in moving prototype models into production and maintaining productionized models.
- Design and develop robust operations tooling for model training, release management, and rollback procedures.
- Implement and maintain model monitoring systems to ensure long-term model health, performance, and data quality.
- Take ownership of production models, ensuring they are updated, efficient, accurate, and cost-effective.
- Build batch processing systems and APIs to deploy and operationalize machine learning models in production environments.
- Refactor and modernize older data science codebases to align with current engineering standards and tooling.
- Collaborate with data science researchers, providing scientific and technical feedback to improve model robustness and reproducibility.
- Develop and maintain documentation of processes and standard operating procedures for data science products and MLOps workflows.
- Work in Agile mode to deliver the outcomes of our data science and MLOps projects.
Required Skills/Experience
- BS or higher degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Computer Science or other STEM disciplines.
- 3+ years of experience in roles such as data scientist, machine learning engineer, or software engineer with ML responsibilities (consistent with mid-level expectations).
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, Git, and GitHub.
- Experience using and/or maintaining CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Codefresh, GitHub Actions, or similar.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- Experience working with cloud platforms and managed services (AWS, Azure, or similar).
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (for example, Terraform).
- Working experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses.
- Familiarity with project management platforms like JIRA and Confluence.
Nice To Have
- Postgraduate degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Industry or academic experience in transportation logistics and supply chain.
- Experience building cloud-based data transformation pipelines (ETL).
- Strong SQL skills, especially with Snowflake.
- Working knowledge of orchestration frameworks like Airflow.
- Demonstrated experience owning an engineering module end to end.
- Solid mathematical understanding of machine learning algorithms.
