Logistics Manager

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Export Import Operations

• Handle end-to-end export & import processes including documentation, booking, and compliance.
  
• Coordinate with CHA, Customs, DGFT, shipping lines, and freight forwarders.
  
• Ensure timely submission of BL, Invoice, Packing List, COO, LC documents, and post-shipment files.
  

2. Container Planning & Shipment Scheduling

• Plan container loadability, stuffing layout, volume utilization, and packing requirements.
  
• Finalize shipping schedules, vessel planning, freight negotiation, and route selection.
  
• Follow up on booking confirmations, container availability, CTD, cut-off, and sailing schedules.
  

3. Packing & Dispatch Management

• Develop and implement export-grade packing standards for fragile/heavy engineering items.
  
• Ensure correct packing, labeling, loading & securing as per customer/port requirements.
  
• Monitor vehicle placement, dispatch timelines, and transportation coordination.
  

4. Warehouse & Inventory Coordination

• Oversee warehouse space planning, material movement, FIFO/FEFO, and stock accuracy.
  
• Coordinate with Production & Stores for timely material readiness for dispatch.
  

5. Team Leadership

• Lead and supervise logistics, packing, dispatch, and warehouse teams.
  
• Allocate daily tasks, track KPIs (OTIF, lead time, freight cost, dispatch accuracy).
  
• Train team members on documentation, safety, packing standards & logistics SOPs.
  

6. Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Manage relationships with freight forwarders, transporters, CHAs, and packaging vendors.
  
• Coordinate closely with Sales, Production, Purchase, Accounts & QA for shipment planning.
  

7. Cost, Compliance & Risk Management

• Evaluate freight options, negotiate rates, and control logistics costs.
  
• Ensure adherence to export import regulations, GST, e-way bills, and audit requirements.
  
• Resolve shipment delays, port issues, documentation discrepancies, and customs queries.
  

8. MIS, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Prepare shipment MIS, cost analysis, container utilization reports, and logistics dashboards.
  
• Implement process improvements in packing, dispatch planning, and logistics efficiency.
  
• Monitor OTIF performance, logistics KPIs, and corrective action planning.
