About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated Assessment Legal Intern to support the day-to-day legal and documentation needs of our fast-paced startup. This internship is designed primarily as a structured learning programme that helps participants strengthen their drafting skills, research abilities, communication clarity, and understanding of process-driven workflows. During the programme, interns will receive guidance, feedback, and opportunities to apply what they learn in practical assignments.


Role Overview:

This is a full-time, on-site internship where the intern will support the legal function in managing day-to-day tasks related to compliance, documentation, and contract drafting. All work will be performed under supervision, with the primary objective of guiding the intern’s learning and helping them strengthen their drafting accuracy, research skills, and process discipline. 


The intern will assist in:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and refining commercial agreements, NDAs, licensing documents, service agreements, and internal templates.
  • Conducting preliminary analysis of contracts to identify key clauses, risks, and operational considerations.
  • Conducting legal research on the IT Act, DPDP Act, Contract Act, IP laws, Consumer Protection Act, any other applicable Act and  relevant compliance frameworks.
  • Assisting in the preparation and updating of internal policies (Privacy Policy, Anti-Bribery, Asset Usage, Data Protection, etc.).
  • Reviewing intellectual property (IP) documents, including trademark filings, ownership confirmations, usage guidelines, and related correspondence.
  • Preparing clear, well-structured research notes on legal, regulatory, and policy requirements applicable to technology-driven businesses and early-stage startups.
  • Coordinating with internal teams (operations, product, tech, HR) to collect inputs, align documentation,.
  • Supporting in compliance activities, including maintaining trackers, checklists, and version-controlled legal documentation.
  • Assisting with  audits, due diligence activities, and compliance checklists.
  • Supporting the review of procurement/government documents, including tenders, notices, addendums, and compliance submissions.
  • Drafting email communications, internal notes, and concise summaries as instructed.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Final-year law student or recent graduate (LL.B./B.A. LL.B./B.B.A. LL.B.).
  • Strong understanding of corporate and business laws.
  • Strong legal research and drafting abilities with clarity, structure, and precision.
  • Familiarity with recent legal and regulatory developments in India, including updates under the IT Act, DPDP Act, Consumer Protection Act, and evolving compliance requirements.
  • Understanding of technology contracts, SaaS documentation, and IP basics is an advantage.
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow structured processes and instructions diligently.
