Job Description

Key Functions and Responsibilities
As a Lead Software Engineer, The candidate should have experience in designing solutions for business problems that involve complex User Interfaces, data intensive operations and process hand-offs..
Role Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:
  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of technologies and/or SME knowledge of a technology, advising others on design, development and implementation
  • Advances tools and applications by producing expert code and producing the right solutions needed
  • Handles own workload and promotes an inclusive and open culture
  • Identifies, prioritises, and drives tasks in the software development life cycle (Agile)
  • Is regarded as the point of contact in their domain by showing significant depth of knowledge and expertise in software development and develops further knowledge of other domains to act on linkages and dependencies
  • Understands how the technology / domain strategy relates to and impacts own work, supporting the implementation of strategy and culture within all work. Supports strategy definition where appropriate
  • Develops an understanding of the market and LSEG's commercial position in it
  • Leads the delivery of critical projects, working autonomously and with little direction; may ensure the timely completion of work from other team members, delegating work when required and mentoring others
  • Works with architects to decompose a solution into Epics
  • Leads design work and planning for Epics breaking them down to journeys with product owners and quality leads
  • Adapts existing patterns to develop robust solutions
  • Supports with needed information to conduct Performance Reviews
  • Builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, growing own network and collaborating with other teams.
  • Communicates complex / technical information clearly and concisely in an audience appropriate format
  • Continues to develop technology and industry expertise through certifications, professional qualifications and networking events.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Demonstrates significant knowledge of a single or multiple technologies and advises on design, development and implementation
  • Has knowledge on Advanced tools and applications required for producing clean and efficient code and reviews others' code when required
  • Leads a team/s, promoting an open and inclusive culture, holding responsibility for motivation, retention and performance management, and leads by example
  • Builds and defines learning and development plans for teams and individuals
  • Demonstrates depth of knowledge and expertise in software development and is regarded as the SME in their domain. Develops knowledge of other domains to understand linkages and dependencies
  • Understands the tech strategy and culture, and how this impacts own work as well as adjacent teams
  • Develops an understanding of the market and LSEG's commercial position in it
  • Leads the delivery of critical projects, coaching team members to be productive with little direction; delegating and reviewing work when required
  • Works with architects to decompose a solution into Epics
  • Leads timely design work and planning for Epics breaking them down to journeys with product owners and quality leads
  • Adapts existing patterns to develop robust solutions
  • Continues to build and develop strong relationships with senior stakeholders (internally and externally), representing LSEG appropriately. Promotes collaboration between and within teams and communicates complex information clearly to all audiences
  • Continues to develop technology and industry expertise through certifications, professional qualifications and networking events as well as invest in creating development opportunities for the team.
Qualification
12+ years experience in Software Development and engineering experience in data intensive applications.
Strong experience of developing web, windows applications/services using modern technologies – Angular, C#.net/Java, ASP.Net, Oracle, SQL Server, Azure, AWS. High exposure and experience in working with native cloud services in Azure, AWS. Experience in SDLC and Agile based delivery with good knowledge in CI\CD tools & automation. Helps in formation/setting up of teams through interviewing and identifying different skill sets required to deliver the project successfully.
