Lead Hardware Engineer – Endoscopic Imaging
Research & Development – Endoscopy Imaging
Vapi, Gujarat.
Head – Imaging Systems / R&D
To design, develop, and bring up high-performance image processing hardware platforms for endoscopic imaging systems, ensuring signal integrity, reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance in accordance with global medical device standards.
The role contributes directly to clinical image quality, system robustness, and long-term platform scalability.
• Design and review schematic and multilayer PCB designs for endoscopic imaging systems, including sensor, processing, and interface boards.
• Define system-level hardware architecture in collaboration with firmware, FPGA, and optical teams.
• Select and qualify key electronic components including CMOS image sensors, FPGA/SoC, memories, power devices, and connectors.
• Support board bring-up, validation, and lifecycle management of imaging hardware platforms.
• Design and validate high-speed digital interfaces such as MIPI CSI-2, LVDS, HDMI, and DisplayPort (DP).
• Ensure correct signal integrity, impedance control, differential routing, and timing closure.
• Implement and verify sensor interfacing, including clocking, synchronization, reset, and power-up sequencing.
• Collaborate closely with firmware and image-processing teams to ensure optimal video performance.
• Design hardware in compliance with medical device safety and EMC requirements.
• Support EMI/EMC pre-compliance and certification testing, including troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Address thermal management, electrical safety, grounding, and isolation requirements.
• Participate in design verification, validation, and risk management activities.
• Work closely with firmware, FPGA, optics, mechanical, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing teams.
• Provide technical leadership, design reviews, and mentorship (for Lead role).
• Support supplier interactions, component qualification, and production ramp-up.
• Contribute to technical documentation, design history files, and change management.
• B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Embedded Systems.
• 6–12+ years of experience in hardware development for imaging, video, or embedded electronic systems.
• Experience in medical devices, endoscopy, surgical imaging, or camera systems is strongly preferred.
• Proven hands-on experience with board bring-up, debugging, and system validation.
• Strong expertise in high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuit design.
• In-depth knowledge of image sensor interfacing and video signal paths.
• Experience with MIPI CSI-2, LVDS, HDMI, DisplayPort (DP) standards.
• Understanding of medical device hardware fundamentals, including safety, EMC, and reliability.
• Proficient in schematic capture, PCB layout review, and hardware debugging tools.
• Structured, documentation-oriented working style aligned with regulated environments.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in cross-disciplinary teams.
