The team you will be a part of
The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.
This Role In Summary
Whirlpool is looking for a qualified candidate for the role of NVH Expert (Senior Analyst) for the Laundry NVH Team at Pondicherry location.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Lead NVH development and validation across washer and dryer programs, ensuring compliance with performance and consumer satisfaction targets.
- Conduct noise and vibration testing, analyze results, and propose design countermeasures for system and component improvements.
- Develop and correlate simulation models (FEA / MBD / SEA) to predict NVH behavior and guide design decisions early in the product development cycle.
- Translate VOC into measurable NVH attributes and engineering specifications for design teams.
- Partner with subsystem, simulation, and test teams to define and deliver NVH verification & validation (V&V) plans.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for NVH-related field issues and warranty concerns.
- Create and maintain FMEA, DVPR, and other key design documents as part of the Whirlpool Product Development (WPD) methodology.
- Benchmark competitor products to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for innovation and cost optimization.
- Guide design engineers and cross-functional teams on NVH fundamentals, best practices, and design improvements.
- Drive closure of DFMEA actions and update occurrence and detection ratings based on validation outcomes.

Preferred Skills And Experiences
- Strong understanding of Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH) principles and their application in mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in NVH testing, data acquisition, and analysis tools (LMS, Pulse, Artemis, HEAD Acoustics, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with simulation tools (Ansys, Nastran, OptiStruct, Virtual.Lab, etc.).
- Knowledge of system dynamics, modal analysis, and acoustic fundamentals.
- Ability to correlate simulation and test results for design optimization.
- Understanding of product development process (P2/P4G) and WPD methodology.
- Experience in DFMEA, DVPR, and validation documentation.
- Familiarity with CAD / Windchill / SAP for design and BOM management.
