To design, develop, and lead real-time embedded firmware, FPGA video pipelines, and image signal processing (ISP) for endoscopic imaging products, delivering clinically optimized image quality with low latency and high reliability in challenging surgical environments such as low light, blood, smoke, and reflections.
• Lead SoC bring-up, BSP development, and board validation for endoscopic imaging platforms.
• Develop and maintain RTOS / Embedded Linux drivers, including video, memory, and peripheral interfaces.
• Implement and optimize DMA, memory management, and real-time scheduling for live video streaming.
• Ensure low-latency and high-throughput end-to-end video performance.
• Design and implement FPGA-based real-time video pipelines for image capture, processing, and streaming.
• Develop RTL modules for sensor interfaces, memory controllers, synchronization, and video transport.
• Integrate FPGA logic with SoC firmware for seamless data flow and system control.
• Optimize FPGA resources for performance, power, and scalability.
• Develop, integrate, and tune ISP algorithms, including:
– Noise Reduction (NR)
– Demosaicing
– Auto Exposure (AE) / Auto White Balance (AWB)
– Color correction, enhancement, and tone mapping
• Optimize image quality for endoscopic clinical scenarios, including low light, blood presence, smoke, glare, and specular reflections.
• Perform sensor characterization and clinical image tuning for different sensors, optics, and illumination systems.
• Conduct hardware-level debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG, and trace tools.
• Profile and optimize system performance across FPGA, firmware, and ISP stages.
• Ensure robustness, stability, and repeatability of imaging performance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to firmware and imaging engineers.
• Collaborate with electronics, optics, mechanical, clinical, quality, and regulatory teams.
• Support internal validation, clinical evaluation, and production readiness activities.
• Contribute to architecture reviews, design documentation, and technical decision-making.
• B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Electronics, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 8–15+ years of experience in embedded imaging systems, with exposure to FPGA, SoC, and ISP development.
• Prior experience in medical imaging, endoscopy, surgical cameras, or low-latency video systems is strongly preferred.
• Experience in leading or owning imaging subsystem architecture is desirable.
• Strong expertise in FPGA RTL development and embedded C / C++.
• Hands-on experience with RTOS and Embedded Linux environments.
• Deep understanding of image processing, ISP pipelines, and color science.
