Lead Applications Scientist, Hair Care

As we continue to deliver cutting-edge technology and new ideas, we are looking for a Application scientist to join our organisation to lead manage Application development, test applications for new actives launched by Croda. The incumbent will provide technical services to customers, Troubleshooting & providing solutions on Customer’s formulation using our Hair Care Actives.Reporting into the Head of Research & Technology, you will lead the applications for Hair Care actives including running validation studies using advanced equipment of our PVCS lab. You will also be supporting customer work requests and continually work towards our innovation pipeline feeding ideas to the larger R&D organization to solve future problems.Who We’re Looking For

Degree qualified in Chemical or Cosmetic engineering.Proven experience and understanding of Hair Care ingredients, predominantly for Hair growth, colour, greying etc.Must have good oral and written communication skills to be able to represent Croda.Works well in a team and interact effectively with others.Familiarity with Hair care applications and instruments used in the laboratory.What You’ll Be Doing

Develop and Market Croda’s products in India with a focus on Hair Care applications. Apply technical knowledge to evaluate and formulate new and existing products to meet market needs, solving both complex and straightforward problems. Design and carry out laboratory experiments. Review results, investigate issues through data collection, and determine next steps for experiments or project stages. Support less experienced staff through the same process. Provide technical support to sales and marketing teams as needed—responding to customer technical enquiries, recommending products, conducting training sessions, and participating in customer technical visits and training. Work directly with customers to assess needs or co-develop formulations. Communicate primarily through verbal discussions within the applications group, and via emails and written technical reports to other departments (e.g., research, marketing, and sales). Present complex scientific information in formats appropriate for each audience. Occasionally share technical product information with customers via email or during technical visits. Keep research, sales, and marketing teams updated on project developments. Frequently select the most viable development routes for projects, whether complex or straightforward, in consultation with the line manager. Independently plan and manage multiple projects, conducting experiments of varying complexity to deliver new data and formulations on time. Project durations typically range from a few days to six months. Use creative and practical approaches to support new product launches and existing product ranges, including developing new test methodologies or novel finished formulations for promotional purposes. Continuously enhance knowledge of relevant applications and market trends in the Hair Care segment.What We Offer
