Job Title: Senior Laravel Backend Developer

Location: Salt Lake, Kolkata (No Remote Work/ Hybrid can be considered)

Job Type: Contract Basis (Up to 6-7 months)

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Laravel Backend Developer to lead the development of our

Healthcare CRMs core functionalities, APIs, and database interactions. You will be responsible

for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure backend services that power

our multi-user application, ensuring compliance with healthcare data regulations (HIPAA,

GDPR).

Key Responsibilities:

● Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure RESTful APIs using

Laravel.

● Implement and manage database schemas, migrations, and complex queries (e.g.,

MySQL).

● Develop and integrate core CRM functionalities, including user management,

patient management, appointment scheduling logic, and communication services.

● Implement role-based access control (RBAC) and robust authentication

mechanisms.

● Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA,

GDPR) at the backend level.

● Integrate with third-party services (e.g., SMS gateways, email service providers).

● Implement background jobs and queues for asynchronous tasks (e.g.,

notifications).

● Write clean, well-documented, and testable code.

● Collaborate with frontend developers, UI/UX designers, and other stakeholders to

define and deliver new features.

● Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and sprint planning.

● Ability to read and understand an already built application and make improvements

to it as per the requirements.

● Ability to run Developer Unit Testing before handing it over to QA

● Deploy and manage Laravel applications on Microsoft Azure, including

setting up App Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, and other

relevant Azure services.

● Troubleshoot and debug production issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

● Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or

equivalent practical experience).

● 5+ years of professional experience in backend web development, with at least 3

years specifically with Laravel.

● Strong proficiency in PHP and object-oriented programming.

● Extensive experience with relational databases, particularly MySQL, including

database design and optimization.

● Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices.

● Experience with authentication and authorization (e.g., Laravel Passport, Sanctum,

Spatie Permissions).

● Familiarity with queueing systems (e.g., Redis, RabbitMQ) and background

processing in Laravel.

● Experience with version control systems (Git).

● Ability to read and understand an already built application and make improvements

to it as per the requirements.

● Ability to run Developer Unit Testing before handing it over to QA

● Proven experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting web

applications on Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure App Service, Azure SQL

Database, Azure DevOps for CI/CD).

● Understanding of security best practices, especially in the context of healthcare

data (HIPAA, GDPR).

● Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

● Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

● Experience with microservices architecture.

● Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks).

● Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
