About the mission we offer you:
- Operate laboratory equipment such as GC, LC, XRD, XRF etc
- Perform experiments in the labs for testing gas, liquid and solid samples
- Operate lab scale pilot units as per project needs in the Chennai and Tuticorin labs
- Prepare and maintain testing plans
- Supervise the lab operations for rock testing experiments at the Tuticorin labs
- Support the set up of new lab equipment including both hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon gas and liquid processing units as needed
- Develop/execute standard operating procedures and improve them considering risk analysis and research needs
- Work in accordance with health and safety standards and support development and improvement of change processes
- Responsible for the setup, maintenance and operations of one or multiple experimentation units
- Collect, analyses and report data with clear insights on the technology development
- Support literature search to identify, and compare new technology ideas
- Participate in Process Safety assessments and last minute risk assessments
This role will be based in the Technip Energies’ Research and Innovation Center in IIT Madras Research Park, in Chennai. The additional dimension of this role is that you will be involved in the operation and supervision of Technip Energies’ experimental projects within the facilities of SPIC in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. This requires frequent travel from Chennai to Tuticorin and staying at Tuticorin for extended periods during the experimental campaign.R&D in Technip Energies is focused on driving the energy transition through technologies such as those enabling decarbonization, carbon capture & utilization, circular economies, bio-fuel development, green H2 and its derivatives etc while also improving Technip Energies’ broad & diverse technology portfolio. About you:

- Master's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with at least 5 years of operational experience in a laboratory set up in energy industry
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Hands on experience of working in an R&D experimentation facility
- Good verbal and written communication
- A self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and willing to work on a broad range of topics as the research and innovation center gets set up
- Ability to work well in a team, collaborate with internal & external stakeholders and think creatively.
