About The Opportunity

A role within the Travel & Tourism sector supporting passenger health screening, diagnostics coordination and partner laboratory networks. The position supports remote laboratory operations, test logistics, quality assurance and timely reporting for travel-related diagnostic services across India.

Primary Job Title:

Laboratory Technician (Laboratory Technician is the standardized, high-performing title for this role)

Role & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate end-to-end sample logistics and tracking for travel-related diagnostic tests (sample collection scheduling, courier coordination, chain-of-custody documentation).
  • Receive, verify and process incoming lab data and reports into the Laboratory Information System (LIS); ensure accurate, time-bound reporting to customers and operations teams.
  • Perform or supervise routine laboratory tasks remotely (data validation, test triage, result flagging) and liaise with partner labs for discrepant or urgent cases.
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain test accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Communicate with customers, travel coordinators and field collection teams to resolve queries, escalate critical results and support certification documentation for travel clearance.
  • Maintain meticulous electronic records, generate dashboards/reports on turnaround time (TAT), test volumes and quality metrics to drive continuous improvement.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have
  • Diploma / BSc in Medical Laboratory Technology, Life Sciences or equivalent with 1–3 years’ lab experience (diagnostic laboratories preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) or strong exposure to lab data entry, sample tracking and reporting workflows.
  • Solid understanding of specimen handling, chain-of-custody, RT-PCR/rapid diagnostic test processes and quality control principles.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting travel-related testing programs (COVID/RT‑PCR certifications) or working with external sample collection vendors and couriers.
  • Familiarity with ISO 15189, NABL/CLIA-style accreditation requirements and basic phlebotomy skills.
  • Strong communication skills, comfort working remotely, and proficiency with Excel / basic dashboarding tools.
