L2 Support Engineer

Level 2 Support

Key Responsibilities

• Test deployment packages using simulators or actual manufacturing equipment (e.g., SMT lines, wafer processing machines, die bonders).
• Deploy finalized and validated software packages into production environments (Semiconductor Fab, PCB Assembly Line, Electronics Product Integration).
• Integrate software packages with production applications and manufacturing equipment (e.g., Pick & Place Machines, Wire Bonders, Reflow Ovens).
• Analyse system logs, error messages, and data to effectively troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
• Work with data formats such as JSON and XML for configuration, data exchange, and communication between IT and OT systems.
• Collaborate with customers, field engineers, and cross-functional internal teams to support deployment activities and provide technical assistance during production ramp-ups.
• Support continuous learning in IT-OT integration concepts to bridge the gap between industrial automation and enterprise systems.
  

Preferred Skills

• Basic knowledge of Java for debugging or minor development tasks.
• Understanding of industrial communication protocols such as:
• SECS/GEM
• OPC UA
• REST API
• Modbus
• PROFINET
• EtherCAT
• Ethernet/IP Relevant to the electronics and semiconductor industry.
• Familiarity with automation tools and industrial control systems such as:
• PAC (Programmable Automation Controllers)
• PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers)
