Junior Service Reliability Engineers (1-2 years)
Location: [WFO - Kochi]Team: Engineering & Risk OperationsRole SummaryWe are looking for a Junior Service Reliability Engineer to help ensure theresilience, performance, and integrity of our fintech platform. In this hybrid role, you willdrive efforts to maintain service uptime, while also using data-driven analysis to detect,respond to, and mitigate fraudulent activities. You’ll work at the intersection of engineering,risk, and operations—ensuring both our systems and our customers remain protected.This is a high-impact position ideal for someone with 3+ years of experience, who thrives ina fast-paced, mission-critical payments or fintech environment.Key ResponsibilitiesService Reliability Engineering - Ensure high availability and performance of our customer-facing services and paymentsystems. - Design and implement observability and alerting strategies using Datadog, PagerDuty, andcustom dashboards. - Troubleshoot alerts/logs/db across infrastructure, applications, and APIs, and performroot cause analysis. - Define and manage SLIs/SLOs/SLAs to measure and improve system health. - Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for system provisioning, health checks,and failovers. - Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure scalable, fault-tolerantdesigns.Fraud Detection & Risk Monitoring - Leverage Splunk/Datadog, internal logs, and behavioral data to monitor suspicioustransaction patterns in real-time. - Investigate alerts, anomalies, and user behaviors to detect fraud, abuse, or financial riskexposure. - Tune detection rules, triggers, and risk signals based on observed fraud trends.
- Work closely with compliance, fraud operations, and customer support on case
investigation and resolution. - Develop and maintain dashboards and reports on fraud KPIs, incident metrics, and
operational trends. - Participate in cross-functional fraud response processes and post-incident reviews.Required Qualifications - 1-2+ years of experience in a combined SRE, DevOps, fraud analyst, or security operationsrole. - Strong experience with monitoring and alerting tools: Datadog, PagerDuty, Splunk. - Proficiency with Linux, shell scripting, and infrastructure troubleshooting in cloudenvironments (AWS, GCP, or Azure). - Solid understanding of service observability, incident response, and CI/CD pipelines. - Experience with fraud detection workflows or risk monitoring in fintech, payments, ortransaction-heavy systems. - Comfortable writing queries (SQL, Splunk SPL) and working with large volumes of log orevent data. - Strong collaboration skills and the ability to communicate clearly with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.Nice to Have - Exposure to KYC/AML systems or fraud detection frameworks in regulated environments. - Familiarity with secure API architecture, authentication flows (OAuth2, JWT), and accesscontrol. - Knowledge of PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, ISO-8583 or other financial compliance frameworks. - Hands-on experience with rule engines or anomaly detection models. - Certifications like AWS DevOps Engineer, CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), or similar.What You’ll Get - A unique opportunity to work across both service reliability and fraud detection. - Impactful work supporting secure, high-volume payment operations. - A collaborative, data-driven culture with a strong engineering and risk mindset. - Career growth through ownership of complex systems and security initiatives.Skills: splunk spl,api architecture,azure,monitoring,ci/cd pipelines,shell scripting,sql,fraud,gcp,aws
