Role Overview

Junior Instructional Designer

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of training modules, facilitator guides, and learner handbooks for life skills, hospitality, and workplace readiness programs.
  • Apply learner-centered instructional approaches such as

    Test–Teach–Test

    , experiential learning, and storytelling.
  • Simplify complex topics (e.g., AI basics, communication skills, diversity & inclusion) into relatable and accessible content for learners with varied literacy and digital exposure.
  • Assist in creating visual and digital learning assets, including

    PowerPoint presentations, videos, infographics, posters, and activity worksheets

    .
  • Collaborate with field trainers to pilot content and refine materials based on classroom feedback.
  • Ensure learning content is

    inclusive, gender-sensitive, culturally relevant

    , and aligned with community contexts.
  • Maintain organized content repositories and support documentation, LMS uploads, and version control.

Skills & Competencies

Essential Skills:

  • Strong passion for

    education, youth development, and social impact

    .
  • Excellent writing skills in

    simple, clear English

    (knowledge of Hindi or regional languages is an advantage).
  • Basic understanding of

    instructional design principles

    and learner-centered pedagogy.
  • Proficiency in

    MS PowerPoint, Google Docs, and Canva

    .
  • Ability to manage creativity alongside structure, timelines, and feedback.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with tools such as

    Articulate Rise, Genially, or basic video editing tools

    .
  • Prior experience working or volunteering with

    NGOs, community learning projects, or skill development programs

    .
  • Awareness of

    gender equity, inclusion, and diversity-sensitive training practices

    .

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in

    Education, Psychology, Social Work, Mass Communication

    , or a related discipline.
  • 1–3 years of experience

    in content design, training support, or education (internships, fellowships, and volunteer projects will be considered).
