We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to oversee the upkeep, troubleshooting, and improvement of machinery used in the manufacturing and installation of racking and shelving systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with mechanical systems, hydraulic presses, roll forming machines, welding equipment, and general plant maintenance in a heavy fabrication environment. Role & responsibilities Perform regular preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment, including roll forming machines, presses, conveyors, and welding systems. Monitor and inspect equipment to detect potential failures and minimize downtime. Troubleshoot breakdowns quickly and effectively to restore production operations. Maintain and update maintenance logs, inspection reports, and service records. Coordinate with the production team to schedule maintenance without disrupting workflow. Ensure compliance with safety standards, risk assessments, and company policies during maintenance activities. Support installation and commissioning of new machinery or plant expansions. Optimize machine performance by suggesting and implementing technical improvements. Manage spare parts inventory and initiate procurement for required mechanical components. Provide training to maintenance technicians and production staff where needed. Required Skills & Qualifications: Diploma/Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 3–6 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in the racking, shelving, or steel fabrication industry. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and welding processes. Ability to read mechanical drawings, manuals, and technical documentation. Familiarity with TPM, preventive maintenance schedules, and root cause analysis. Hands-on approach, with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Preferred candidate profile Experience with automated or semi-automated roll forming lines.
