Role Overview:

Freelance Japanese Translator

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate documents, reports, presentations, and communication materials from English to Japanese and vice versa.
• Review and proofread translated content to ensure linguistic accuracy and contextual relevance.
• Collaborate with internal teams (actuarial, product, and technology) to understand technical terminology.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company and client information.
• Meet deadlines for project-based assignments with high-quality deliverables.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a

  Japanese-English translator

  , preferably in the

  insurance or finance

  domain.
• Strong grasp of both

  written and spoken Japanese and English

  .
• Familiarity with financial, actuarial, or technical terminology is a strong plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle complex subject matter.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Japanese Language, Translation, Finance, or related field.
• JLPT N1 or N2 certification preferred.
• Prior experience working with multinational or technology-driven organizations.
