Position: Freelance Japanese Translator Location: Gurgaon / Mumbai Engagement: Freelance / Contract About Agam Capital: Agam Capital is a global InsurTech company specializing in asset-liability management (ALM) and financial modeling solutions for the insurance industry. We work with leading insurers and financial institutions across North America, Asia, and Europe to deliver advanced analytics, valuation, and technology-driven insights. Role Overview: We are looking for a Freelance Japanese Translator to support our actuarial, finance, and technology teams in translating documents, reports, and communication materials between English and Japanese . The ideal candidate will have prior experience translating in the insurance, finance, or technology domains and be able to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency across all deliverables. Key Responsibilities: Translate documents, reports, presentations, and communication materials from English to Japanese and vice versa. Review and proofread translated content to ensure linguistic accuracy and contextual relevance. Collaborate with internal teams (actuarial, product, and technology) to understand technical terminology. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company and client information. Meet deadlines for project-based assignments with high-quality deliverables. Requirements: Proven experience as a Japanese-English translator , preferably in the insurance or finance domain. Strong grasp of both written and spoken Japanese and English . Familiarity with financial, actuarial, or technical terminology is a strong plus. Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle complex subject matter. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Japanese Language, Translation, Finance, or related field. JLPT N1 or N2 certification preferred. Prior experience working with multinational or technology-driven organizations.
