Internship Opportunity For Students of Jamia Millia Islamia University - Direction Department Intern – Film Project


Location: New Delhi NCR (On-site internship during production)

Duration: December 2025 – End of January 2026 (2 months)

Positions Available: 2 Interns

Category: Feature Film (Category A Production)


About the Role

Seeking 2 highly motivated and passionate Direction Department Interns to work alongside our director and assistant director team on an upcoming feature film. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in film direction, script breakdown, production management, and on-set coordination.


Key Responsibilities

Pre-Production:

  • Assist in script breakdown and scene analysis to identify shooting requirements
  • Support in creating shot lists, floor plans, and storyboards
  • Help coordinate casting sessions and auditions
  • Assist with location scouting and recce activities
  • Participate in production meetings and creative discussions

Production (On-Set):

  • Support the director and 1st AD in managing daily shooting schedules
  • Coordinate with various departments (camera, sound, art, costume) to ensure smooth operations
  • Manage call sheets and track continuity
  • Assist in directing background artists and crowd scenes
  • Handle on-set logistics and problem-solving
  • Ensure shooting remains on schedule and maintains production efficiency
  • Communicate effectively between the director and crew members

Administrative:

  • Maintain production documentation and reports
  • Prepare daily progress reports
  • Assist with script revisions and updates
  • Handle coordination tasks as assigned by the director


Who Should Apply

  • Have a genuine passion for filmmaking and direction
  • Are currently pursuing or have recently completed studies in Film Direction, Mass Communication, Cinema Studies, or related fields
  • Possesses strong organizational skills and can multitask under pressure
  • Demonstrate excellent people management and communication skills
  • Are quick decision-makers and effective problem-solvers
  • Show keen attention to detail and visual storytelling sensibility
  • Can work efficiently in fast-paced, high-pressure production environments
  • Are team players with a collaborative mindset
  • Have the ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, late nights, and weekends

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in student films, short films, or production internships
  • Basic understanding of filmmaking processes and terminology
  • Knowledge of production software (Movie Magic Scheduling, Celtx, or similar)
  • Demonstrated interest through personal projects, film workshops, or assistant work
