Job Summary
We are looking for an Intern (Accounts & Finance) to perform daily finance and accounting tasks that will support our finance team. Your responsibilities will include managing expense reports and reimbursements, entering financial transactions into our internal databases and reconciling invoices. If you have an accounting degree and are interested in gaining experience we’d like to meet you.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Transactions & Record-Keeping:
Raise daily invoices and record payment receipts in Excel and accounting software.Accurately record all transactions in the cashbook.Compile and review financial information, including receipts, invoices, and tax forms.Accurately reconcile transactions with Bank statements.
Accruals & Expense Management
Possess basic knowledge in managing accrued income, expenses, revenue, and interest.
Tax Compliance & Regulatory Adherence
Handle all aspects of tax compliance, including GST, TDS, Income Tax, etc ensuring adherence to applicable regulations.Work closely with external teams like Chartered Accountants and Legal teams to ensure financial reporting and legal compliances are completed on time.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Help prepare financial statements and reports, providing insights into the company’s financial status.Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts by analyzing past financial data.
Payroll Management
Assist with payroll activities, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Administrative & Support Functions
Perform general administrative tasks such as answering queries from employees, clients or vendors and maintain filing systems.Work closely with the finance team and other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
Qualification
Qualifications & skills required:
At least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. However, candidates with relevant experience can be considered.
Experience
Freshers are eligible but candidates having at least 1 year of relevant post-qualification experience in accounting, taxation will have an advantage.
Skills
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, especially Google Sheets and Drive
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in accounting software (like Tally, preferably Zoho Books) is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and Problem-Solving skills, time management, strong numerical skills.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices, as well as tax laws.
