Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Instrumentation Project Engineer to join our team in a leading instrumentation panel manufacturing company specializing in hazardous area applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in instrumentation design, panel manufacturing, and project management for hazardous area environments, ensuring compliance with international safety standards.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing instrumentation projects from concept to completion, ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery. You will also be responsible for managing client relationships, coordinating internal teams, and providing technical leadership across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Execution:

  • Lead the execution of instrumentation projects, ensuring successful delivery of instrumentation panels for hazardous area applications.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, technical specifications, and schedules.
  • Coordinate the design, manufacturing, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation panels, ensuring all activities align with project requirements.
  • Design & Engineering:

  • Prepare Data Sheets ,
  • Design and review of the instruments and instrumentation panel including selecting components and ensuring compliance with industry standards (IECEx, ATEX, UL, etc.).
  • Provide technical input on hazardous area classifications, installation methods, and equipment selection for hazardous environments.
  • Ensure all designs meet safety regulations and client-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal design teams to optimize panel layout, wiring, and functionality for hazardous area use.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders regarding project status, risks, and changes.
  • Manage and resolve technical issues in collaboration with clients and internal teams.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (ATEX, IECEx, UL, etc.) for hazardous area applications.
  • Oversee the preparation of documentation and certifications required for regulatory approvals.
  • Conduct and supervise factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT) to ensure product performance meets client specifications.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians within the team.
  • Collaborate with other departments (Procurement, Production, QA, etc.) to ensure smooth execution of the project.
  • Ensure effective communication between all internal and external stakeholders involved in the project.

Risk Management & Troubleshooting:

  • Identify potential risks and take proactive steps to mitigate them.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues during design, manufacturing, and commissioning phases.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Additional certifications in hazardous area equipment design (e.g., ATEX, IECEx) are highly desirable.
  • Experience in international projects or dealing with clients from diverse geographical regions.
  • Knowledge of industrial control systems (SCADA, HMI) and integration of instrumentation systems in automated environments.

  • Experience:

  • Minimum 2-10 years of experience in instrumentation engineering, with project management role.
  • Strong experience with the design, manufacturing, and commissioning of instrumentation panels for hazardous area applications.
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects within the instrumentation industry, particularly in hazardous locations.
  • Technical Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of instrumentation and control systems, including PLCs, DCS, RTUs, and field devices.
  • Familiarity with hazardous area classification and associated design standards (ATEX, IECEx, UL, NEC, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with panel design, electrical wiring, and system integration for hazardous environments.
  • Strong proficiency in instrumentation engineering software and tools (AutoCAD, EPLAN, etc.).
  • Knowledge of safety and quality standards related to instrumentation panels in hazardous locations.
  • Other Skills:

  • Excellent project management skills, including experience with project scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality assurance and adherence to safety standards.
  • Problem-solving ability and experience with troubleshooting complex instrumentation systems.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers and support staff.
