Inspector- Micro Irrigation system

Markek is accredited Inspection body, (TPI) from NABCB (National accreditation Board for Certification bodies). Markek is looking for a Freelance/full-time inspector for verification of the Irrigation system for the Government scheme.

Role Objective:

To carry out independent third-party inspections, material verification, and trial runs of micro irrigation systems (drip/sprinkler) installed on farmers’ fields under the Per Drop More Crop – Micro Irrigation scheme, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and scheme guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Material Verification:

a) Check and verify the quality, specifications, and quantity of pipes, fittings, filters, pumps, valves, and other system components against approved technical standards.

b) Ensure materials supplied are ISI-marked or as per the tender specifications.

2) Installation Verification:

a) Inspect the layout and installation of drip/sprinkler irrigation systems on farmer’s fields.

b) Verify correct spacing, alignment, and fittings to ensure effective water distribution.

3) Trial Run & Performance Testing:

a)Conduct trial runs of the installed system to check water flow, pressure, and uniformity.

b) Ensure system efficiency and performance as per prescribed standards.

4) Documentation & Reporting

a) Prepare detailed inspection reports with photographs, observations, and compliance status.

b) Record deviations, defects, or deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.

5) Farmer Interaction

a) Brief farmers about the functioning of the system and collect feedback on usability.

b) Report farmer grievances, if any, to higher authorities.

6) Understanding of Compliance & Standards

a) Ensure adherence to BIS/IS codes, state horticulture department guidelines, and scheme requirements.

b) Follow inspection protocols and maintain impartiality as a third-party agency representative.

Key Skills & Competencies:

a) Strong knowledge of micro irrigation systems (drip & sprinkler).

b) Understanding of agriculture practices, soil-water-plant relationship.

c) Technical knowledge of pipes, pumps, filtration units, and fittings.

d) Ability to use measuring instruments (pressure gauge, flow meter, vernier calipers, etc.).

e) Good communication and report-writing skills (English & Hindi).

f) Integrity, impartiality, and strong observation skills.

a) Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned districts of Uttar Pradesh.
