Infrastructure Administrator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Administrator to manage the installation, configuration, patching, and day-to-day operations of all supplied infrastructure components within the IRSOC environment. The role requires hands-on experience in Windows and Linux system administration, along with strong expertise in Nutanix virtualization technologies and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

System Administration & Operations:

• Install, configure, and administer Windows and Linux systems.
• Perform regular patching and updates to maintain system security and performance.
• Monitor system health and ensure high availability of infrastructure components.
• Manage backups, disaster recovery procedures, and system audits.

Infrastructure Component Management:

• Operate and maintain all supplied infrastructure components offered for IRSOC.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across hardware, OS, and application layers.
• Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and security standards.

Virtualization & Nutanix Platform:

• Administer Nutanix virtualization platform including cluster setup, VM provisioning, and resource optimization.
• Perform golden image spin-up and manage virtual machine lifecycle across multiple locations.
• Troubleshoot virtualization issues including performance bottlenecks, resource allocation, and VM failures.
• Monitor Nutanix environment for capacity planning, fault tolerance, and operational efficiency.

Technical Expertise & Support:

• Provide technical support and incident resolution for infrastructure-related issues.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and implementation teams for integrated operations.
• Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and change logs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Windows/Linux system administration.
• Strong expertise in installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
• Proven experience in managing and troubleshooting Nutanix virtualization environments.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools, scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash), and automation practices.
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals and security controls.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in virtualization setup, administration, and troubleshooting, with a strong understanding of hyper-converged infrastructure and virtual machine lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities:

Virtualization Platform Administration:

• Install, configure, and manage VMware vSphere and Nutanix AHV clusters.
• Perform provisioning, cloning, and lifecycle management of virtual machines.
• Monitor and optimize resource utilization across virtual environments.
• Implement and manage golden image spin-up and template-based deployments.

Troubleshooting & Performance Optimization:

• Diagnose and resolve virtualization-related issues including VM failures, performance bottlenecks, and resource conflicts.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for infrastructure incidents.
• Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery readiness.

Patch Management & Upgrades:

• Apply patches and updates to hypervisors and virtualization platforms.
• Plan and execute version upgrades with minimal downtime and risk.

Monitoring & Reporting:

• Use monitoring tools to track performance, capacity, and health of virtual infrastructure.
• Generate reports on usage trends, system alerts, and compliance metrics.

Collaboration & Documentation:

• Work closely with infrastructure, network, and security teams to support integrated operations.
• Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and change logs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in virtualization administration using VMware and/or Nutanix.
• Strong expertise in installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of virtual environments.
• Experience with Nutanix Prism and VMware vCenter.
• Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Bash) and automation tools.
• Good understanding of networking, storage, and security integration in virtualized setups.

Preferred Certifications:

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
• Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP)
