Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled Jira System Admin to take ownership of our Jira environment help manage and optimize our Jira instance ensure smooth project tracking & collaboration across teams. Configure maintain and troubleshoot Jira projects workflows & user permissions & also ensure Jira is tailored to the needs of our teams. have passion for improving workflows and optimizing project management systems
Responsibilities
System Upgrades & Maintenance for Jira datacenter version
Manage Jira upgrades and patches on Linux instance to ensure the instance is always up-to-date and running smoothly. Implement necessary maintenance tasks and data backups.
Continuously optimize the Jira environment to improve performance and usability. Regularly audit and update configurations to reflect evolving team and business needs.
Install configure and manage Jira plugins and add-ons to enhance functionality. Evaluate and recommend third-party tools for Jira integration when necessary.
Provide ongoing support to end users addressing technical issues bug fixes and system errors promptly. Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems related to Jira performance and configuration.
Oversee the entire Jira instance including configuring projects workflows screens schemes permissions and notifications based on team requirements.
Manage user roles permissions and groups. Ensure proper access control and data security while promoting collaboration across different access management tools. Knowledge on Single-Signon Jira user directories concepts.
Build custom dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights into project progress team productivity and other KPIs for stakeholders.
Create and maintain comprehensive Jira documentation for reference by all users.
Work closely with project managers scrum masters developers and other stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure Jira is configured to support their processes effectively and in performant way
Proven experience in Jira Administration over 2 years is preferred with Linux skills to manage the backend datacenter side
Experience with Jira Software for datacenter version
Expertise in Jira Query Language-JQL to create custom reports filters and queries.
Familiarity with Jira Automation to streamline processes and reduce manual tasks.
Hands-on experience with Jira plugins and add-ons e.g. ScriptRunner Structure etc.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly.
Experience integrating Jira with other tools like Confluence Bitbucket Bamboo etc.
Solid knowledge of Agile methodologies like Scrum Kanban and how they are implemented within Jira.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge on Scripting e.g. Groovy Python for Jira automation or advanced customizations.
Knowledge with Confluence and other Atlassian tools is preferred.
Knowledge of SQL for more advanced reporting is preferred.
Certifications Required
Certification in Jira Software Administration or Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator
