IB PYP/MYP Physical Education Teacher

The IB PYP/MYP Physical Education Teacher plays a crucial role in nurturing the overall development of students through the promotion of physical fitness, sportsmanship, and a healthy lifestyle within the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. Key Responsibilities: - Implement and adhere to the IB PYP/MYP curriculum for physical education. - Develop and deliver lesson plans that cater to diverse student needs and learning styles. - Create and evaluate physical education programs that emphasize physical fitness, sportsmanship, and healthy living. - Coach and facilitate various sports activities, nurturing team dynamics and sportsmanship among students. - Provide opportunities for students to engage in both individual and team sports. - Promote health and wellness concepts across the school environment. - Maintain detailed records of student progress and program effectiveness. - Utilize assessment tools to gauge student performance and growth in physical education. - Establish a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and active participation. - Collaborate with fellow faculty members to integrate physical education with other subject areas. - Regularly communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress and involvement in activities. - Encourage community engagement in school sports and physical education initiatives. - Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of best practices in physical education and IB curriculum updates. - Represent the school in inter-school sports competitions and events. - Organize and oversee after-school sports clubs and activities. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field. - Specialization in athletics or field games such as football, hockey, cricket, volleyball, handball, basketball, etc. - Teaching certification or license endorsed for Physical Education. - Preferably, experience teaching in an IB PYP or MYP environment. - Minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience in primary and secondary education. - Strong grasp of child development and pedagogical methods in physical education. - Ability to design engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans. - Knowledge of various sports and physical fitness training techniques. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Proficiency in managing a classroom effectively. - Demonstrated experience in collaborating with colleagues and engaging parents. - Current CPR and first aid certifications. - Familiarity with assessment tools and techniques for evaluating student performance. - Passion for fitness and advocating an active lifestyle among students. - Cultural awareness and sensitivity in diverse educational settings. - Willingness to actively participate in school community events. - Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning in education.
