Job Description

1. Recruitment and Workforce Planning

  • Manpower planning in coordination with production and operations heads.
  • Managing end-to-end recruitment for shopfloor and administrative roles.
  • Developing hiring strategies to address seasonal or urgent manpower needs.
  • Collaborating with staffing agencies and skill development centers.

2. Attendance and Time Management

  • Implementing biometric/time-card attendance systems.
  • Monitoring shift schedules, overtime, and absenteeism.
  • Ensuring compliance with labor laws regarding working hours, rest intervals, and holidays.

3. Statutory Compliance and Labor Law Adherence

  • Ensuring adherence to the Factories Act, Industrial Disputes Act, ESI, PF, and other statutory requirements.
  • Coordinating with labor inspectors and government officials during audits.
  • Filing of statutory returns and maintaining compliance registers.

4. Employee Relations and Grievance Handling

  • Maintaining harmonious industrial relations.
  • Acting as a liaison between workers, unions (if any), and management.
  • Handling grievances, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions as per standing orders.

5. Training and Development

  • Conducting skill development programs for workers and supervisors.
  • Coordinating with safety and quality departments for periodic training (5S, Kaizen, ISO, etc.).
  • Organizing induction programs for new employees.

6. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)

  • Collaborating with the Safety Officer to ensure safe working conditions.
  • Driving awareness on PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and accident prevention.
  • Managing health checkups, medical camps, and emergency response drills.

7. Performance Management

  • Implementing appraisal systems for both blue-collar and white-collar employees.
  • Supporting departmental heads in setting KRAs/KPIs.
  • Facilitating performance improvement plans (PIPs) for underperforming staff.

8. Payroll and Benefits Administration

  • Coordinating accurate and timely payroll processing including attendance, leave, and overtime.
  • Managing ESI, PF, bonus, gratuity, and other statutory or company-provided benefits.
  • Handling wage structure revisions, increment cycles, and incentive schemes.

9. Policy Implementation

  • Drafting and enforcing HR policies tailored for manufacturing environments.
  • Ensuring clear communication of policies in local languages as required.
  • Regular policy reviews and updates based on legal and operational changes.

10. Employee Engagement and Welfare

  • Organizing cultural, sports, and welfare activities to improve morale and retention.
  • Maintaining canteen, transportation, and accommodation (if applicable).
  • Handling exit formalities, conducting exit interviews, and analyzing attrition trends.
