Job Description

Job Summary

The HR professional at SMBT Hospital will be responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations, employee records, statutory compliance, and supporting hospital administration in maintaining an efficient, motivated, and compliant workforce. This position plays a critical role in ensuring smooth functioning of HR processes in a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate interviews with department heads and medical superintendents.

  • Handle reference checks, offer letters, and onboarding formalities.

1. Onboarding & Induction

  • Conduct hospital orientation for new employees including safety norms, infection control, and HR policies.

  • Create and maintain employee files, contracts, and digital records.

  • Ensure new staff receive required training and departmental induction.

2. HR Operations

  • Manage attendance, shift schedules, biometric records, and leave management.

  • Prepare monthly payroll inputs and coordinate with accounts.

  • Maintain duty rosters, especially for nursing and clinical departments.

3. Employee Relations & Welfare

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee queries and grievances.

  • Support healthy employeremployee relations through regular communication.

  • Facilitate employee welfare activities, health checkups, and hospital events.

4. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare labor regulations, hospital accreditation requirements (NABH), PF, ESIC, maternity benefits, etc.

  • Assist with audits and documentation needed for regulatory bodies.

  • Maintain statutory registers, appointment letters, and leave records.

5. Performance Management & Training

  • Coordinate performance appraisals, probation confirmations, and increment cycles.

  • Assist in identifying training needs, especially clinical training, soft skills, and hospital safety modules.

  • Maintain training attendance and competency records.

6. HR Reporting & MIS

  • Prepare HR MIS reports on manpower, attrition, attendance, overtime, and recruitment status.

  • Update department heads and management with HR metrics regularly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Preferred:

    MBA/PGDM in HR.

  • Experience in hospital or healthcare HR will be an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication and coordination skills.

  • Familiarity with hospital staffing needs and compliance requirements.

  • Understanding of shift scheduling and 247 workforce management.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and HR software.
