Join a mission-driven team at the forefront of climate action in India. Climate Group is seeking a dynamic HR & Office Manager to lead people operations and office culture at our New Delhi office. Youll work closely with the Executive Director, India, and collaborate with global colleagues in London to shape an inclusive, high-performing workplace.

About the role

As HR & Office Manager, youll be central to ensuring our New Delhi office runs smoothly and our people feel supported, valued, and connected to Climate Groups global mission. Youll report to the Executive Director, India, and work closely with our global Operations team, including HR and Governance colleagues in London. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape a positive employee experience and contribute to impactful climate work across India.

Key responsibilities will include:

Human Resource management

  • Serve as the primary contact for staff HR queries, interpreting and applying policies in consultation with central HR to ensure consistency across regions.
  • Support managers with employee relations issues, working closely with the Executive Director and global HR team, and escalating complex matters when necessary.
  • Implement and uphold local and global HR policies, identifying emerging needs as the organisation grows and evolves.
  • Oversee and optimise the recruitment process, advising hiring managers on inclusive practices, managing agency relationships and preparing offer documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records for employees and consultants, including overseeing contract renewals, leave tracking, and compliance with employment terms.
  • Support managers with new employee onboarding, ensuring alignment with global practices and a smooth transition into the organisation.
  • Guide managers through performance and development processes, including annual reviews and quarterly check-ins, in line with global timelines.
  • Promote learning and development regionally by supporting access to training resources, monitoring local needs and collaborate with the Executive Director and global HR to address gaps.
  • Lead regional pay and benefits benchmarking in partnership with central HR.
  • Support global EDI initiatives locally by maintaining the EDI calendar and encouraging participation in activities.
  • Foster a positive office culture and team cohesion by managing the calendar of staff events, coordinating welcomes and farewells, and nurturing a sense of belonging.

Office management

  • Line manage the Office Assistant, supporting their growth and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Manage relationships with building management and suppliers to maintain a safe, welcoming and sustainable office environment.
  • Lead purchasing decisions for supplies and services, ensuring alignment with budget, policy and sustainability standards.
  • Monitor and supporting hybrid working arrangements, helping staff balance flexibility with collaboration.
  • Coordinate internal events and staff socials, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
  • Provide logistical support for stakeholder meetings, staff gatherings and high-profile events.
  • Assist the Communications team with external event planning , including venue sourcing and supplier coordination, building a database of suppliers for future use.
  • Act as the point of contact for travel arrangements, supporting staff and the Executive Director with queries and complex itineraries.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in generalist HR roles, ideally in international or matrixed organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience managing employee relations and coaching managers.
  • Hands-on recruitment experience including reviewing job descriptions, screening applications and guiding hiring managers on selection techniques and inclusive hiring.
  • Comfortable managing office operations and vendor relationships.
  • Numerate and analytical.
  • Strong organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders from various levels and cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English, with the ability to tailor communication to the audience to support understanding and engagement.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Experience fostering inclusive cultures and supporting EDI initiatives.
  • A flexible, proactive mindset suited to a fast-moving, SME environment.
  • Experience of reward and recognition approaches and pay benchmarking.
  • Experience of purchasing goods and services and managing service level agreements.
  • Experience of managing others and supporting their development.

Our location

Youll be based in our New Delhi office and will enjoy the benefits of flexible and hybrid working: 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.

This is a fixed-term 2-year position with the possibility of renewal. The salary offered is ₹18,54,500 to ₹21,39,799 per annum, based on experience.
