Job Description

SUMMARY

Locomotive Driver

Responsibilities:

Conduct pre-operation checks on traction units, including safety equipment and documentation
Verify completeness and validity of required documents and train data
Perform brake tests and ensure all systems are operational prior to departure
Operate locomotives during train, shunting, and special operations in accordance with regulatory standards
Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues in line with instructions
Carry out routine vehicle inspections and report any defects or damages
Assist in securing cargo and managing coupling/uncoupling procedures
Perform shunting line operations and prepare for locomotive train journeys
Provide customer service during operations and support passenger or freight handling as needed

Requirements

Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Locomotive Driver
Proficiency in German (written and spoken) at a minimum B1 level, supported by official certification or diploma
Valid driver’s license and relevant operational certifications
Strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and ability to work under pressure
