SUMMARY
Summary:
The Head Projects and Business Development role at our leading Slag Management and Metal Recovery company in Kolkata is pivotal to driving strategic growth and market expansion. This position is responsible for identifying high-impact business opportunities across the steel, mining, and metal recovery sectors, while also strengthening the company’s footprint in material handling and earthmoving services. The ideal candidate will lead the business development function by crafting and executing growth strategies, managing key client relationships, and overseeing tender processes. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role plays a critical part in shaping the company’s future by building strategic alliances, optimizing revenue streams, and ensuring alignment with long-term organizational goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities in steel, mining, metal recovery, and related industrial sectors.
  • Lead end-to-end client engagement, including proposal development, presentation delivery, and contract negotiation.
  • Oversee project feasibility studies and manage participation in tenders and bidding processes.
  • Represent the company at client meetings, industry conferences, and strategic partnership forums.
  • Monitor and report on business pipeline performance, including tender outcomes and conversion rates.
  • Provide guidance to internal teams on costing, documentation, and presentation standards for proposals and bids.


Requirements
Requirements:
  • 15 20 years of progressive experience in business development, project management, or strategic growth within industrial sectors such as metal recovery, slag processing, mining contracting, material handling, or earthmoving.
  • Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgical, or related field).
  • Proven track record in driving revenue growth, managing large-scale projects, and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of tendering processes, contract management, and client relationship development in industrial B2B environments.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with a results-driven mindset.
Industry Exposure : We are looking from similar industry exposure i.e. Metal recovery and Slag Processing /Mining Contractor/Material handling or earthmoving.
