Head of Purchasing

Position Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned Supply Chain Professional to oversee procurement and supply chain functions for a client in the automotive components sector. The position entails responsibility for strategic sourcing, vendor relations, cost control, inventory oversight, and logistics coordination. Ideal Candidate should hold a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and have 12–15 years of experience in procurement, preferably in  the automotive or auto component industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement:

• Design and execute procurement strategies in alignment with overall business objectives.
• Conduct supplier market analysis to identify cost-efficient sources, alternative options, and strategies to manage risks.

Vendor and Supplier Relations:

• Foster and sustain robust partnerships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality and supply.
• Negotiate contracts covering pricing, payment schedules, and supply terms to achieve cost benefits and long-term relationships.
• Evaluate supplier performance and ensure adherence to audit and regulatory standards.

Cost Efficiency & Budget Management:

• Drive initiatives to reduce procurement costs through Value Analysis /Value Engineering.
• Collaborate with finance teams to monitor procurement budgets and anticipate purchasing trends.
• Enhance cost effectiveness by leveraging bulk buys, alternate suppliers, and streamlined supply chain processes.

Inventory and Logistics Management :

• Maintain balanced inventory levels of raw materials, engineering spares, and consumables to prevent stockouts or excesses.
• Liaise with production, engineering, quality control, and warehouse teams to ensure efficient procurement workflows.
