Role Summary:

The Position will lead procurement strategic and operational procurement functions, ensuring cost-effective sourcing formulated products, selective ai to formulate, packing material procurement, supplier relationship management, and compliance (strict adherence to quality). This role is to optimize contracts (raw material savings/ contract s) supply chain (raw materials arrivals lined up with production plan) performance, supporting new product launches, and driving cost efficiencies across the organization. A key focus will be on developing procurement strategies for active ingredients and converting them into formulations, ensuring long-term procurement for consistent, high-quality products at competitive prices.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Responsibilities

• Establish long-term procurement plans to ensure consistent quality and competitive pricing.


• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.


• Suggest and define procurement policies and enabling process efficiencies.


• Drive cost optimization initiatives and monitor procurement budgets.


• Assess and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, price volatility, and regulatory compliance.


• Develop procurement strategies for active ingredients and monitor their conversion into formulations with co-ordination with cross functional departments.

Operational Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate with Sales and Production for Forecast demand and plan purchases as per RSP and production plan to ensure timely availability of Raw materials, Packing Material.


• Lead and mentor the procurement team; update KPIs and monitor performance.


• Draft, review, and manage procurement contracts ensuring quality, legal and regulatory compliance.


• Collaborate with inventory and production teams to maintain optimal stock of raw material/packing material.


• Prepare regular reports on supply/demand trends and price movements to guide purchasing decisions.


• Support procurement activities for new product launches.


• Ensure statutory compliance with procurement regulations.

Supplier Relationship Management

• Raw material and Packing material supplier evaluation based on delivery and pricing as per business needs.


• Build and maintain long-term supplier partnerships.


• Ensure alignment with quality and delivery standards and providing timely feedback.


• New supplier identification for short term and long term objectives.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong negotiation and analytical skills


• Well aware of ERP systems


• Deep understanding of Crop protection products procurement


• Leadership and stakeholder management


• Financial acumen and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree Bachelor s/Master s Business Administration.


• Strong experience in Agrochemicals, understanding of chemistry and agrochemical regulations.
