Job Description

HR Planning

  • Implement HR policies and processes at the Plant in line with the direction and framework provided by the BU HR and Corporate HR
  • Implement LTS agreement as directed by ER Head and BU HR Head, and carry out negotiations as per stipulations provided
  • Ensure workforce productivity and welfare through set-up and management of committees, conducting engagement activities, including fortnightly meetings with union leads and regular shop floor communication
  • Manage and supervise the redressal of employee grievances
  • Supervise the preparation of various MIS and reports on manpower cost, vendor billings, weekly overtime data, effort tracking, daily manpower cost tracker, compliance data etc. and provide them routinely to the BU, Corporate HR Head for review and action
  • Responsible for making hiring recommendations at the plant level and sharing with BU and Corporate HR
  • Coordinate recruitment of blue-collar workers at the Plant in a timely and proactive manner, ensuring zero loss of production, inclusive of salary negotiations within remit set by Corporate C&B team

Manpower planning

  • Responsible for management of plant manpower cost inclusive of planning workforce composition of permanent and contractual workers within remit set by Corporate ER
  • Manage manpower supply and shortage inclusive of shift-wise coordination, devising corrective actions for meeting shortage, managing disciplinary issues
  • Liaison with labor contractors to ensure availability of contractual laborers at the Plant at all times.

Training

  • Ensure the delivery of behavioral training as scheduled by Corporate L&D Team, and training required by vendors, customers
  • Supervise delivery of technical skill building, E&T and safety training programs by Plant HR team for workmen as well as contractual employees, in discussion with the various department heads

Performance management

  • Support roll out of Performance Management System, including facilitating the review process, guiding Plant level PMS calibrations with department heads and Plant Head, follow up on completion of the process and provide resulting data to BU HR head for closure

EHS & Statutory Requirements

  • Ensure compliance to corporate EHS policies, statutory requirements, and ensure labor laws and regulations are respected and complied with
  • Manage quick resolution of statutory non-compliances to ensure no penal actions
  • Participate in internal compliance audits and external certification audits bye external agencies such as TPM, OSHA, TS
  • Ensure adherence to training and safety guidelines and regular monitoring of plant conditions to ensure unsafe actions and conditions are eliminated. Ensure display of onsite emergency plans, safety guidelines, supervise mock drills etc.
  • Supervise outsourced compliance activities such as the monitoring operations of sewage and affluent treatment plants and adherence with standard practices
  • Manage the running of Occupational Health Centers as per required guidelines

ER/IR

  • Ensure harmonious industrial relations through regular interaction with the unions, and through quick redressal of grievances
  • Ensure adherence to ER compliances, provide relevant data for ER MIS, and participate in audits conducted by Corporate ER team

Administration and security

  • Negotiate with contractors for provision of cost-effective administrative facilities
  • Oversee smooth functioning of all administration related tasks viz. Security, CCTV surveillance, transport coordination, time office, canteen facilities, bus administration and overall cleanliness and maintenance of the Plant
  • Review and monitor administration costs, and work towards reducing the same

Payroll management

  • Coordinate collation of accurate payroll input data such as attendance, productivity incentive, overtime, variable pay etc. and ensure timely sharing of this data with payroll services provider, Mindsol
  • Supervise transition of payroll data management to SAP
  • Response to payroll queries by Corporate C&B team on payroll disbursement, technical issues on payroll software etc.
  • Participate in internal payroll biannual audits conducted by the internal audit team

Team development

  • Carry out performance appraisal of direct reports and identify team members training needs and areas of improvement
