Role Description
fiber-optic sensing based Well and Reservoir intelligence solutions
bring domain-specific physics and behavioral. understanding of Wells and Reservoirs into AI/ML models
This role will work closely with other geophysicists, data scientists, and data engineers to support the deployments of our AI platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the acquisition of data from the field assets involving DAS/DTS as well as other traditional sensors.
- Interpret DAS/DTS data in the context of wellbore, reservoir, and geo-mechanical / geo-thermal behaviour, including production, injection, integrity, and flow-related phenomena.
- Diagnose physics-driven signatures in fiber-optic sensing data such as:
Flow regimes and changes
Pressure and temperature transients
Injection/production responses
Leakage or integrity-related anomalies
Deformation or strain-related effects.
- Build behavioral and analytical models explaining why specific DFOS signal patterns occur under given subsurface conditions.
- Translate physical domain understanding into
AI/ML feature engineering
, data labelling strategies, and anomaly definitions with the help of physics-aware constraints, heuristics, and validation rules within ML workflows. - Guide selection of
frequency bands, spatial/temporal aggregation logic, and signal representations
for DAS/DTS analytics. - Support field deployments, pilots, and validation exercises by correlating sensor data with operational context.
- Contribute to internal diagnostic playbooks, interpretation frameworks, and best-practice guidelines for DFOS-based monitoring.
- Assist in technical discussions with clients by clearly explaining the physical basis of detected events and insights.
- Document workflows, results, and technical insights clearly in reports or code comments.
Required Qualifications
10-15 years of professional experience
in geophysics applications in Oil & Gas domain such as reservoir monitoring, geothermal well monitoring, subsurface diagnostics or similar application areas.- Direct hands-on experience of interpreting and working with subsurface / well data from fiber-sensing systems (e.g., DAS, DTS) is a must including seismic, pressure/temperature, micro-seismic, or similar datasets.
- Hands-on experience of working with Vertical Seismic Profiling
- Deep expert level understanding of
well integrity monitoring, injection surveillance, CCUS monitoring and reservoir surveillance
use cases. - Working proficiency in any well/reservoir data visualization tool is a plus
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geophysics, Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related discipline.
- Should have strong communication skills, and collaborative mindset with ability to manage and drive the technical discussions with global clients
