Responsibilities Survey Project Planning & Execution Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of hydro-graphic surveys including Single beam, multi-beam, Side Scan Sonar, and Topographic surveys. Define survey scope, methodology, and timelines based on project requirements and applicable standards (e.g., IHO S-44, project specs). Ensure proper integration and configuration of survey equipment and systems prior to deployment. Technical Oversight and Quality Control Supervise data acquisition, ensuring accuracy, precision, and adherence to QA/QC protocols. Review and validate collected data and processed outputs, including bathymetric charts, DTMs, and sounding sheets. Ensure all deliverables meet client specifications and industry standards. Team Leadership and Supervision Supervise junior surveyors, survey assistants, and trainees onboard or in the field. Provide technical guidance, task allocation, and mentoring to ensure team competence and performance. Conduct briefings, debriefings, and toolbox talks relevant to survey operations. Equipment Management Oversee the setup, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hydrographic and positioning equipment (e.g., MBES, SBES, GNSS, USBL, INS, SVPs etc). Ensure all survey systems are functioning optimally throughout the project. Data Processing and Reporting Lead the processing and interpretation of survey data using software such as CARIS, HYPACK, EIVA NaviPac etc. Prepare and submit survey reports, field notes, progress updates, and final deliverables in line with contractual obligations. Client Coordination Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients during survey operations. Participate in pre-survey meetings, provide regular progress updates, and address any technical queries or issues raised by the client. Compliance and Documentation Ensure that all survey operations comply with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. Maintain complete and organized survey documentation including logs, calibration records, and field sheets. Continuous Improvement Contribute to reviewing and improving internal survey procedures, workflows, and technologies.
