Job Description – Geologist (Office-Based)

Position: Geologist – Office Based

Department: Geo Technical Department

Location: New Delhi

Reporting To: Technical Manager / Project Head/ Business Development

Role Overview

The Office-Based Geologist will be responsible for analyzing geological data, preparing technical reports, supporting project planning, and providing expert insights based on geological findings. The role focuses on data interpretation, documentation, coordination, and technical support with minimal field activities.

Key Responsibilities

.Analyze geological, geotechnical, and geophysical data received from site teams.

.Prepare technical reports, geological interpretations, and recommendations for projects.

.Review borehole logs, soil/rock test results, and site investigation reports.

.Assist in foundation recommendations, material suitability, and risk assessment.

.Prepare geological maps, cross-sections, and project documentation.

.Coordinate with site engineers, consultants, and clients for data clarification.

.Support tender documentation, project proposals, and technical submittals.

.Maintain organized records of geological data, lab reports, and drawings.

.Assist in QA/QC review of incoming site investigation results.

.Contribute to planning of future site investigations and data requirements.

Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of geology, geotechnical engineering, and soil/rock mechanics.

Ability to interpret bore logs, lab results (SPT, UCS, Atterberg, etc.), and geological models.

Proficiency with GIS, AutoCAD, MS Office, and geological modeling tools (preferred).

Excellent analytical, documentation, and report-writing skills.

Strong communication and ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Detail-oriented with strong data interpretation abilities.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Geology, Applied Geology, or Earth Sciences.

1–5 years of experience preferred (Fresher also considered based on requirement).

Experience in office-based geological analysis is an added advantage.

Office-based role with structured working hours.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
