Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager HR & Administration to lead the HR function for our organization from the Head Office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end HR and administrative oversight of 8 manufacturing units, working closely with Plant HR teams to ensure consistency, compliance, and operational excellence across locations.


Key Responsibilities:

HR Strategy & Operations

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the companys business goals.

  • Drive workforce planning and talent acquisition for HO and plant-level positions.

  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, statutory compliance, and HRMS data management.

  • Oversee Performance Management System (PMS) implementation, appraisal cycles, and goal alignment.

  • Identify training needs and lead Training & Development programs across locations.

  • Monitor HR KPIs, analytics, and employee engagement metrics.


Administration & Compliance

  • Supervise administrative functions across plants including housekeeping, transport, security, and office infrastructure.

  • Ensure adherence to all legal and statutory norms related to labor laws, contract labor (CLRA), and factory administration.

  • Oversee efficient handling of audits, inspections, and government liaison work.


Plant HR Oversight

  • Lead, mentor, and coordinate with Plant HR teams to ensure policy uniformity, timely issue resolution, and legal compliance.

  • Act as a central point for escalating critical IR/HR issues from manufacturing sites.

  • Regular review of manpower planning, absenteeism trends, and attrition at plant level.


Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with senior leadership for strategic HR inputs.

  • Act as an HR business partner to functional heads and unit heads.

  • Maintain strong communication flow between HO and plant HR teams.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate in Human Resource Management / Industrial Relations / MBA – HR.

  • 15–25 years of progressive HR experience in the manufacturing industry.

  • should be ready for travel across all plant locations.

  • Proven ability to manage multi-location manufacturing units.

  • Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Hands-on knowledge of labor laws, compliance systems, and contract workforce handling.

  • Tech-savvy with exposure to HRMS and digital HR tools.
