Role Overview

The Area Manager Retail Insurance will be responsible for driving retail insurance business growth within the Gujarat area. The role involves managing channel partners, developing a high-performing sales team, ensuring exceptional customer service, and delivering on business targets across multiple retail product lines . The position requires strong relationship management skills, market understanding, and operational excellence to strengthen Unione Insurance Brokers presence in the region.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Sales

  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets for retail insurance products.
  • Identify and onboard new channel partners, corporate tie-ups, dealers, and local intermediaries.
  • Drive cross-selling and upselling initiatives across the assigned geography.
  • Monitor and track daily/weekly business performance, providing improvement strategies.

2. Team Management

  • Conduct regular review meetings, performance evaluations, and field coaching sessions.
  • Foster a high-performance culture and ensure adherence to company processes.

3. Partner & Client Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with agents, POSPs, dealers, and other business partners.
  • Provide sales support, product knowledge, and marketing material to partners.
  • Handle escalations and ensure timely resolution of customer issues.

4. Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure accuracy in policy issuance, documentation, and adherence to IRDAI guidelines.
  • Coordinate with underwriting, claims, and operations teams for smooth service workflows.
  • Maintain MIS, sales reports, and ensure timely submission to management.

5. Market Insights & Strategy

  • Conduct market analysis to identify new opportunities and competitive trends.
  • Suggest localized marketing campaigns and promotional activities.
  • Provide feedback to the leadership team for product and process improvements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate/PG degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
  • 5–8 years

     of experience in retail insurance sales (broking experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of General Insurance products; POSP network knowledge is an advantage.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets and managing teams.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
