Job Description

The Garment Accessories Specialist is responsible for sourcing, developing, and coordinating garment accessories such as buttons, zippers, threads, labels, trims, and embellishments that enhance the aesthetic and functional appeal of fashion products. The role involves working closely with designers, production teams, and suppliers to ensure accessories align with design specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has strong organizational skills, possesses a good understanding of fashion trends and manufacturing processes. Also, skilled in maintaining inventory of the accessories.

Responsibilities:

1. Sourcing & Procurement:

  • Source garment accessories such as zippers, buttons, snaps, trims, labels, threads, and packaging materials from domestic and international suppliers.
  • Negotiate prices, lead times, and contract terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective sourcing.
  • Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and explore new suppliers for innovative materials and solutions.

2. Quality Control:

  • Review and test accessory samples for quality, durability, color matching, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Work with the quality assurance team to identify and resolve any issues in manufacturing or supply chain processes.

3. Inventory & Logistics:

  • Monitor accessory stock levels and place orders to ensure there is sufficient inventory for production runs.
  • Coordinate logistics and shipping schedules to ensure timely delivery of accessories to manufacturing units.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock, orders, and supplier details using inventory management software.

4. Collaboration & Communication:

  • Act as a liaison between design, production, and procurement teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on accessory needs.
  • Attend meetings with design teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to discuss product development timelines and issues.
  • Provide regular updates on accessory production status to internal teams.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of experience in garment accessories sourcing, product development, or procurement within the fashion or textile industry.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems, PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) tools, and ERP software (Tally).
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, textiles, and fashion accessories.
  • Familiarity with quality control procedures and compliance standards (e.g., REACH, OEKO-TEX).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
