A Master's degree in accounting or finance is mandatory, while an MBA or CA would be good to have. A strong understanding of the financial industry with fund accounting, expense reporting, tax reporting, asset types, and derivatives is essential. Furthermore, functional knowledge, good knowledge and understanding of financial instruments and exposure to banking/WAM domains, and an understanding of financial products and services, particularly private equity funds, are necessary for this role. Experience related to fund controllership, investment books and records, and/or fund is highly beneficial. A general understanding of US GAAP and regulatory requirements is a plus, as well as experience with financial statements.
