We are seeking an experienced Freelance Workday Security Consultant to support enterprise-level security design, configuration, and governance within existing Workday HCM tenants. The consultant will be responsible for analyzing security requirements, implementing security policies, validating role-based access, and ensuring compliance across business functions. This role requires hands-on experience with Workday’s security framework, business process configuration, tenant access controls, and security administration best practices.
• Design, configure, and optimize Workday security roles, domains, and business process policies
• Implement and maintain Role-Based Security Groups (RBSGs), Domain Security Policies (DSPs), and Business Process Security Policies (BPSPs)
• Conduct access reviews and segregation of duties assessments for sensitive data and critical workflows
• Troubleshoot access-related issues across Workday HCM modules and business processes
• Perform tenant security audits and provide remediation recommendations
• Collaborate with HR, IT, and audit stakeholders to align security controls with business and compliance requirements
• Maintain documentation for security design decisions, role assignments, and approval matrices
• Support security-related enhancements, releases, and regression testing cycles
• Validate security configurations in sandbox/test tenants prior to migration to production
• Hands-on experience configuring Workday security roles, groups, policies, and business processes
• Strong understanding of Domain Security Policies, Business Process Policies, and User-Based Security
• Experience with Workday tenant audits, SOD enforcement, and access control governance
• Ability to analyze security gaps, profile conflicts, and data access risks
• Familiarity with Workday HCM modules (Core HCM required; Compensation/Absence/Recruiting preferred)
• Experience working with EIB, calculated fields, reports, and security-related RaaS exposure
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Experience with Workday Advanced Reporting and dashboards
• Exposure to Workday Adaptive Planning security models
• Understanding of Workday role provisioning automation or ITSM integrations
