About The Role

Your RoleAs a Senior FPGA Design Engineer at NEC Mobile Network Excellence Center (NMEC), Chennai, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing FPGA-based hardware systems for Datacom and Aerospace applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate system components and demonstrate proof-of-concept designs in advanced technologies.In this role, you will:

Implement FPGA code on target hardware and test with system components and software.

Perform RTL design, implementation, testing, and integration of FPGA-based systems.

Deliver high-performance hardware solutions for Datacom and Aerospace applications.

Participate in R&D activities to demonstrate proof-of-concept designs for aerospace technologies.

Work with evaluation kits and hardware using Vivado/Vitis tools.

Use hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, and JTAG emulators.

Your Profile

Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering (BE/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech or equivalent).

4-6 years of experience in FPGA design and development.

Proficient in FPGA design flows using Xilinx tools including simulation, synthesis, debugging, and optimization.

Strong knowledge of Verilog, VHDL, and SystemVerilog.

Experience integrating Soft IP/Hard IP such as GTX/GTH transceivers, MAC, DMA, PCIe Gen3, CPRI, JESD, FFT.

Skilled in developing verification environments with self-checking testbenches, BFMs, checkers, monitors, and scoreboards.

Familiarity with control interfaces like AMBA AXI, UART, SPI, IC, DDR, Ethernet, and USB.

Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up and testing methodologies.

Good to havescripting skills in Perl, TCL, or Python; experience in linting, STA, equivalence checking, and CDC verification.
